President


Number in community: One 

Description: The president of Eclipse Gaming Syndicate (EGS) focuses on overseeing the community as a whole. He supervises all of the various operations within the community. He is the ultimate authority in Eclipse Gaming Syndicate and has the final say in any and all major decisions that would impact the community. He is the main owner of EGS.  

Vice President

Number in community: One 

Description: The vice president assists the president in running the community as a whole. He/ she also has the job of helping manage the board of directors and the board of owners. He/ She is the second highest ranking member, behind the president within the community. He/she reports to and only to the president of EGS. Together, they work together to ensure that the community is running to its highest potential. He/she is a co-owner of EGS.

Chief of Staff


Number in community: One 

Description: The chief of staff is a part of both the board of directors and the board of owners. They serve as a bridge from the president and vp to the board of directors. They are also to serve as the performance officer of the board. They will evaluate the performance of their peers to the president and vp. Approved by the current board of owners on promotion. He/she is a co-owner of EGS.

Duties:

  1. Oversee all staff within the community.
 
  2. Work with the board members to make sure the community is running smoothly.
  3. Serve as the performance officer of the board.

  4. May issue a warning to any EGS member or any leadership level without acknowledgement of the board of directors. May issue a warning to any board member that isn’t a board of owner member, with acknowledgement from the board of owners. 
  5. Vote on new board members.

  6. Vote on board votes.

  7. Attend board meetings.
  8. Help assist the vice president and president in areas that they think need it.

Reports to: President

Board of Directors

Description: Board of Directors members are not necessarily a rank, but a title. They must be at least a co-division leader that has excelled at their position and voted in by the board of owners. They are in charge of passing policies and any major decisions that will benefit or impact the community. They meet periodically to review the community and discuss ways to improve the quality of the community. The board of directors votes on any major issue, policy or event that will alter the experience of EGS. Each board member has an area to supervise in addition to their clan ops rank. 

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least thirty weeks.
  2. Voted into the board of directors by the board of owners.
  3. Hold at least a co-division leader clan ops rank to qualify. (Not all co-division leaders & up will be a board member)

Duties:

  1. Attend board of directors’ meetings.
  2. Participate in board of directors’ votes.
  3. Focus on the specific area of the community that your board title oversees.
  4. Promote the EGS mission statement.

  • Chief of Clan Operations – In charge of running the clan operations. Highest ranking clan ops member besides, the board of owners. Hosts a weekly senior leadership meeting. 
  • Chief of Web Operations – In charge of running the Discord & web operations. Highest ranking web/Discord ops member besides, the board of owners. 
  • Chief of Department Operations – In charge of department operations. Making sure that all departments are running smoothly. May promote department heads. Hosts a bi-weekly department heads meeting. 
  • Chief of Internal Affairs – In charge of running the EGS court system. They act as the head judge. They are to make sure the court is functioning properly and appropriately. 
  • Chief of Competition & Talent – In charge of evaluating and managing EGS competitive talent and teams. They are to schedule events, contests, etc for the competitive teams. 
  • Chief of Education & Development In charge of the EGS education department and development programs. They are to develop courses and programs to help better our leadership.
  • Chief of Media & Marketing – In charge of the EGS content department and overseeing our social media outreach. They are in charge of finding new ways to improve recruitment, marketing and outreach. 
  • Chief of Information – In charge of making sure all EGS related documents are up-to-date. Also, in charge of formatting all documents that the board of directors may issue. They are also to serve as the “minutes” notes taker during board of directors meetings.

All board members, besides President & Vice President, report to the Chief of Staff.

Senior Director

Number in Community: One per one-two directors


Description: Senior directors are some of the most accomplished and respected EGS clan ops leaders. They have excelled at all ranks. They are the main enforcers of the EGS code of conduct, policies, mission statement and other directives of the EGS Board of Directors. They are to provide support to the directors and divisions that they oversee.

Requirements: 

  1. Must have been in EGS for at least thirty two weeks. 
  2. Must have been in good standing as director for at least three weeks. 
  3. Must be promoted by the Chief of Staff or higher.

Duties:

  1. Attend weekly senior leader meetings.
  2. Will help oversee the directors and support them when needed.
  3. They are to enforce the code of conduct, Discord rules and other important documents/policies.
  4. May issue warnings to directors (with acknowledgement from the Chief Operating Officer) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  5. Expected to be respectful to all members and handle themselves in a professional manner
  6. Expected to promote the EGS mission statement.
  7. May rank suspend for up to four weeks.
  8. May revoke membership of a member and DNH with acknowledgement from the board.

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Director
 

Number in community: One director per one-two divisions. 

Description: Directors are highly respected division leaders that excelled at the division level. They are considered experts in EGS policies, rank structure and code of conduct. They are to oversee the divisions that they are assigned to. 

Requirements: 

  1. Been in EGS for at least twenty nine weeks. 
  2. Been in good standing as division leader for at least three weeks. 
  3. Pass a Code of Conduct, Rank Structure, Handbook, Policies, and all other important information documents courses given by the education department. 
  4. Promoted from division leader to director by the Chief Operating Officer or higher ranking clan ops member.

Duties:

  1. Will oversee one-two divisions at a time.

  2. Required to support the division leaders that they oversee.

  3. Expected to be respectful to all members and handle themselves in a professional manner
  4. Expected to promote the EGS mission statement.
  5. Mentor their division leaders, but still allow them the freedom to operate their division.
  6. Enforce the code of conduct, policies and any other rules to all lower ranking members.

  7. Responsible for enforcing policies, not making policies.

  8. May issue warnings to division leaders that they oversee (with acknowledgement from the senior director overseeing) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  9. May rank suspend for up to three weeks.

  10. May revoke membership of a member and DNH with acknowledgement from the board.
  11. Attend the weekly senior leadership meetings.

Reports to: Senior Director

Division Leader


Number per division: One 

Description: Division leaders are to oversee the operations of one division that they are assigned to. They are in charge of maintaining the success of the squads that they oversee within that division. They are in charge of reporting to the director when squads are going to split or need to be merged. They also need to report when squads should be added or removed. 

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least twenty six weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as co division leader and/or section leader for at least a total of four weeks.
  3. Completed training for division leaders given by the education department.
  4. Have the time to handle overseeing the operations of a division. 
  5. Promoted by the director assigned over the division or higher

Duties:

  1. Will oversee only one division at a time.
In charge of promoting and demoting within the division.

  2. Will handle squad splits, adding squads, removing squads and merging squads with the approval from the director assigned to the division.

  3. Host one division meeting a week for all squad staff and division staff to attend.

  4. May rank suspend for up to two weeks.

  5. May issue warnings to the co-division leader (with acknowledgement from the director assigned to the squad) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  6. In charge of making sure that the division Discord section is up to date, if not they must request changes from the Chief Administrative Officer.

  7. In charge of making sure all staff within the division has the appropriate cms permissions.
  8. Attend weekly senior leader meetings.

Reports to: Director assigned to the division

Co-Division Leader

Number per division: One 

Description: Co-division leaders are given to the section leaders that show outstanding leadership skills and commitment to the division and to EGS as a whole. Co-division leaders are the “right hand man” to the division leader. They are to help oversee the day-to-day operations within their division. 

Requirements:
 

  1. Been in EGS for at least twenty two weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as a section leader for at least three weeks.

  3. Have the time commitment to help run a division.

  4. Completed the course given by the education department for co-division  leaders.
  5. Can be appointed by the division leader, but the director assigned to the division or higher must approve and promote.

  6. Must be promoted from section leader to co-division leader by the director assigned to the division or higher.

Duties:

  1. Assist the division leader with day to day operations.

  2. Oversee the section leaders.

  3. Help organize events, contests, and giveaways for the division.

  4. Can rank suspend for up to two weeks.

  5. Perform performance checks periodically for the division staff.

  6. Perform activity checks on all division staff within the division.
  7. May issue warnings to section leaders (with acknowledgement from the division leader) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  8. Attend the weekly senior leader meeting.
  9. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: Division leader

Section Leader
 

Number per division: One section leader per one-two section chiefs.

 

Description: Section leaders are considered division staff. Section leaders are for section chiefs that have overseen a squad split or shown outstanding leadership. Section leaders are in a pool to be chosen as a co division leader if a division split were to occur or if the co division leader position were to become open. 

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least nineteen weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as a section chief for at least three weeks and/or oversee a squad split as a section chief.

  3. Promoted from section chief to section leader by the division leader or higher.

Duties:


  1. Oversees one-two section chiefs within the division.

  2. Assist in day to day operations within the division.

  3. In charge of promoting and demoting (with acknowledgement from division leader) generals of the squad(s) that they help the section chiefs oversee.

  4. Assist the division leader when needed.

  5. Helps pass information down from upper division staff to the section chief(s) that you oversee. 
  6. Enroll in a co-division leader/division leader course given by the education department. This course will be required before promotion to co-division leader or division leader.
  7. May issue warnings to section chiefs that they oversee (with acknowledgement from the co-division leader) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  8. Attend at least one squad meeting a month for the squad(s) that you oversee.
  9. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: Co-Division Leader

Section Chief

Number per division: One section chief per one-two squads. 

Description: Section chiefs are the first rank at the divisional rank. Section chiefs are mainly for generals that have split their squads. However, this isn’t the only requirement to become a section chief. Section chiefs are to provide support over the general or generals that they oversee. They are not to run the squad, but help direct the general to success. They are also responsible for promoting the senior squad staff. 

Requirements:

  1. Been in EGS for at least sixteen weeks.

  2. Split a squad as a general and/or three weeks in good standing as a general.
  3. Passed the Divisional Leadership Course & Test located on the EGS website.
  4. Promoted from general to section chief by the division leader or higher.

Duties:

  1. Oversees one-two squads within the division.

  2. Assist in day to day operations within the division.

  3. In charge of promoting the Major and LT General for the squad(s) that they oversee.
  4. Handles getting the information of squad tags, clubs, cms and other needed information to the new general(s) that they oversee.

  5. Attend at least two squad meetings a month of the squad(s) that they oversee.

  6. Handle passing information down from higher division staff to the squad senior staff.

  7. May issue warnings to generals (with acknowledgement from the section leader assigned) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  8. Assist the division leader when needed.
  9. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: Section Leader assigned

General
 

Number per squad: One 

Description: The general is one of the most important ranks in the whole community. They are in charge of overseeing the operations of one squad. The success and failure of a squad is reflected on the general. The general has the ability to run the squad to their liking, but must follow all policies, rank requirements, and code of conduct. They are in charge of hosting squad meetings, promoting within the squad and growing the squad. 

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least thirteen weeks.

  2. Been in good standing at major or lieutenant general for at least three weeks.
  3. Know the names of the directors.

  4. Know the names of all divisions in EGS.

  5. Promoted by section leader assigned to the squad or higher.


Duties:

  1. In charge of overseeing day-to-day operations of one squad.

  2. Keep the squad cms up-to-date at all times.

  3. Host at least one squad meeting and one squad staff meeting per week.
  4. Organize events for the squad.

  5. Promote members according to the rank structure. (If requirements are not met for a specific rank, you must run it up the chain of command until proper approval/disapproval is met.)
  6. May demote with acknowledgement from the section chief.

  7. May give activity, failure to host, and other warnings to the squad senior staff (with acknowledgement from the section chief assigned) and ranks below (without acknowledgement)
  8. Assign the squad staff and senior staff to tasks and duties.

  9. Make sure that squad staff is properly trained.
  10. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: Section Chief assigned to the Squad

Lieutenant General

Number per squad: One 

Description: Lieutenant general is considered a general in waiting position. They are the “right hand man” for the general. They are considered senior squad staff. They will have first choice of inheriting the current squad or taking over the new squad when the squad splits.

Requirements: 

  1. Been in EGS for at least ten weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as a major for at least two weeks. OR in good standing as a captain for at least five weeks. (At least one week as 1 CPT)

  3. Know the division staff names and ranks of the other divisions in EGS.

  4. The general can appoint the lieutenant general, but the section chief assigned to the squad or higher in the division staff must be the one to promote and approve of the appointment. The section chief or higher can also reject the appointment if it is deemed necessary. 

Duties:

  1. Assist the general in day-to-day operations of the squad.

  2. Help supervise the captains and lieutenants at the direction of the general.

  3. Help organize squad events, contests and give-a-ways.

  4. May promote members to master sergeant and below, according to the rank structure and requirements.

  5. Advise the general on potential leaders.

  6. Help keep the cms up to date.

  7. Assist on any other tasks that may need done.

  8. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: General

Major

Number per squad: One 

Description: Major is the first rank within the senior squad staff. They are to help oversee the squad under the direction of the general and lieutenant general. They are also considered generals in training. They will either take over the new squad or inherit the current squad, whichever the lieutenant general doesn’t pick, when a squad split occurs. 

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least eight weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as a captain for at least three weeks.

  3. Been the 1st captain for at least a week.
  4. Know the division staff names and ranks.

  5. The general can appoint the major, but the section chief assigned to the squad or higher in the division staff must be the one to promote and approve of the appointment. The section chief or higher can also reject the appointment if it is deemed necessary. 
  6. Pass the Squad Leadership Course & Test that is found on the EGS website. 

Duties:

  1. Assist the general in day-to-day operations of the squad.

  2. Help supervise the captains and lieutenants at the direction of the general.

  3. Enroll in the general training program, given by the education department. (Must complete one week of training at least to be eligible for promotion to general)

  4. Help organize squad events, contests and give-a-ways.

  5. May promote members to master sergeant and below, according to the rank structure and requirements.

  6. Advise the general on potential leaders.

  7. Take a cms workshop before being granted access to cms.

  8. Once having access to cms, help make sure that it is kept up to date.

  9. Assist on any other tasks that may need done.

  10. Attend the weekly division meeting.

Reports to: General

Captain
 

Number per squad: Two (Ranked 1st CPT being the highest and 2nd CPT the lowest.) 

Description: Captains are respected members that have devoted themselves to improving the community and squad. Captains are also in training to become a part of senior squad staff. They are to help supervise the squad at the direction of the senior squad staff.

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least five weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as the higher lieutenant for at least one week.
  3. Know the names of the generals of the other squads in your division.

Duties:

  1. Perform activity checks and send the reports to the senior squad staff.

  2. Captains are in charge of posting and filling the weekly squad schedule. This should be posted by Monday of each week. (Captains should rotate weeks on who does the schedule.)
  3. Coordinate and help host workshops for the squad. May ask lieutenants to help fill slots.
  4. Help train squad staff.
  5. Help supervise lieutenants.

Reports to: Major

Lieutenant 

Number per squad: Two (Ranked 1st LT being the highest and 2nd LT the lowest.) 

Description: Each squad is allowed two lieutenants. These lieutenants help perform some of the day-to-day operations of running a squad. They also help the lower staff with any questions they may have.

Requirements:


  1. Been in EGS for at least four weeks.

  2. Been in good standing as a master sergeant for at least one week.

  3. Know the entire squad staff’s names. (This can be found in your squad’s chain of command channel.)


Duties:

  1. Performs periodical security checks instructed by senior squad staff.

  2. Must have all squad members on their friends list.

  3. Help supervise master sergeants.

  4. Lieutenants should host at least two workshops a month. (Lieutenants may rotate, so each lieutenant can host one a month.)

Reports to: Captains

Master Sergeant

Number per squad: Unlimited (At least four are required for squad split)

Description: This is the first rank of squad staff. This is also the first rank that can train new members into the community. This is one of the most important ranks within the community, because they are typically the first staff member that new members interact with. They should promote the EGS Mission Statement at all times. 

Requirements:


  1. Attend at least one squad meeting.
  2. Attend at least one game night or social night.
  3. Host at least one game night or social night.
  4. Pass the General Knowledge Course & Test that is located on the EGS website.

Duties:


  1. Help complete training of new members for the squad.

  2. Help fill slots in the squad schedule, if needed.
  3. Master sergeants should host at least one recruiting lobby a week. (Master sergeants may rotate weeks, so each get an opportunity)

Reports to: Lieutenants

Sergeant


Number per squad: Unlimited 

Description: This rank is for members that want to move up the ranks and get more than just the regular member experience. They have also shown dedication by attending events and being involved with the squads. This is a rank for the potential staff. 

Requirements:


  1. Attend one of the following: game night, social night, meeting or workshop.

Duties:


  1. Help fill game night and social night slots within the squad schedule.

  2. Begin attending workshops and meetings to help prepare for higher ranks.
  3. Assist general and other squad leaders/officers when needed.
  4. Help welcome new members to the squad.

Reports to: Master Sergeants

Member

Number per squad: Unlimited 

Description: This is the first and starting rank for anyone that is recruited into EGS. They must meet the qualifications for membership to become a member. 

Requirements:


  1. Have a Discord and join our community Discord server.

  2. Have a phone or mic to communicate in voice channels on Discord.
  3. Be at least 16 years old. (Exceptions can be made if they are 15 and only 30 days or less from their 16th birthday.)

  4. Has not been in a clan/community currently or have been in one in the previous 30 days. (Exceptions can be made, but must have a board of directors investigation and vote.)

Duties:


  1. Message at least once in Discord server per seven days to avoid fluff policy. This applies to all ranks within EGS.
  2. Attend the weekly squad meeting. 
  3. Check the weekly squad schedule for events that you can attend. 
  4. Game and meet new people.

  5. Get involved with the community.
