President
Number in community: One
Description: The president of Eclipse Gaming Syndicate (EGS) focuses on overseeing the community as a whole. He supervises all of the various operations within the community. He is the ultimate authority in Eclipse Gaming Syndicate and has the final say in any and all major decisions that would impact the community. He is the main owner of EGS.
Vice President
Number in community: One
Description: The vice president assists the president in running the community as a whole. He/ she also has the job of helping manage the board of directors and the board of owners. He/ She is the second highest ranking member, behind the president within the community. He/she reports to and only to the president of EGS. Together, they work together to ensure that the community is running to its highest potential. He/she is a co-owner of EGS.
Chief of Staff
Number in community: One
Description: The chief of staff is a part of both the board of directors and the board of owners. They serve as a bridge from the president and vp to the board. They are also to serve as the performance officer of the board of directors. They will evaluate the performance of their peers to the president and vp. Approved by the current board of owners on promotion.
Duties:
1. Oversee all staff within the community.
2. Work with the board members to make sure the community is running smoothly. 3. Serve as the performance officer of the board of directors.
4. Vote on new board members.
5. Vote on board votes.
6. Attend board meetings.
Chief of Community Operations
Number in community: One
Description: The chief of community operations is a part of the board of directors, but also a co owner of EGS. They are also apart of the board of owners. They are in charge of overseeing all operations within the community. Approved by the current board of owners on promotion.
Duties:
Oversee the operations within EGS.
Work with the board members, department heads, community leaders to make sure the community is running smoothly as possible.
Vote on new board members.
Vote on board votes.
Attend board meetings.
Board of Directors
Number in community: Currently there are seven board members. However, this can change if a position is added or removed per the board of owners.
Description: Board members are not necessarily a rank, but a title. Each board member manages a specific area of the community. They are also in charge of passing policies that will benefit the community. They meet periodically to review the community and discuss ways to improve the quality of the community. The board votes on any major issue, policy or event that will alter the experience of EGS.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least thirty weeks.
2. Must have excelled in an area of the community to be considered. 3. New board members are voted in by the board of owners.
Positions & Duties:
Chief Operating Officer – This position oversees the clan operations of the community.They work with the community leaders to make sure that the chain of command, policies and other clan procedures are being followed. They also handle the promotion of community leaders. They will also host the senior leadership meetings weekly. They report the progress of clan operations to the board meetings.
Chief Administrative Officer – This position oversees the web, Discord and department operations of the community. They run the web board of directors to help cover the needs of the Discord and the website. They also are in charge of hosting the department head meetings to ensure that departments are running smoothly. They will also name department heads of the departments. They will update the board with these operations at the meetings.
Chief Logistics Officer – This position oversees the education department, recruitment department and the development ideas of the community. They work to create programs that will benefit the community and the leaders, as well as, new ideas to recruit. They also serve as a bridge from the community members to the board of directors with ideas and suggestions. If members want their voices heard, the CLO will bring them to the board for discussion. They will provide the progress of education, recruitment and development to the board at the meetings.
Chief of Internal Affairs- This positions oversees the court and internal affairs within the community. They are the head judge of the court and are to enforce the court policies. They are also to provide court updates to the board of directors meetings. They are in charge of the court department staff and making sure the team is running efficiently and effectively.
Community Leader
Number in community: One community leader per one-two divisions.
Description: Community leaders are highly respected division leaders that excelled at the division level. They are considered experts in EGS policies, rank structure and code of conduct. They are to oversee the divisions that they are assigned to.
Requirements:
Must have been in EGS for at least twenty nine weeks.
Must have been in good standing as division leader for at least three weeks.
Must pass a Code of Conduct, Rank Structure, Handbook, Policies, and all other important information documents course given by the education department.
Must be promoted from division leader to community leader by the chief operating officer
or higher ranking clan ops member.
Duties:
1. Will oversee one-two divisions at a time.
2. Required to support the division leaders that they oversee.
3. Expected to be respectful to all members and handle themselves in a professional manner
4. Expected to promote the EGS mission statement.
5.Must mentor their division leaders, but still allow them the freedom to operate their division.
6. Must enforce the code of conduct, policies and any other rules to all lower ranking members.
7. Responsible for enforcing policies, not making policies.
8. May rank suspend for up to three weeks.
9. May revoke membership of a member and DNH with acknowledgement from the board of directors.
Division Leader
Number per division: One
Description: Division leaders are to oversee the operations of one division that they are assigned to. They are in charge of maintaining the success of the squads that they oversee within that division. They are in charge of reporting to the community leader when squads are going to split or need merged. They also need to report to when squads should be added or removed.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least twenty six weeks.
2. Must have been in good standing as co division leader and/or section leader for at least a total of four weeks.
3. Must have completed training for division leader given by the education department. 4. Must have the time to handle overseeing the operations of a division.
5. Must pass the verbal test given by the community leader assigned to the division.
6. Must be promoted by the community leader or higher.
Duties:
1. Will oversee only one division at a time.
2. In charge of promoting and demoting within the division.
3. Will handle squad splits, adding squads, removing squads and merging squads with the approval from the community leader assigned to the division.
4. Must host one division meeting weekly for all squad staff and division staff to attend.
5. May rank suspend for up to two weeks.
6. In charge of making sure that the division Discord section is up to date, if not they must request changes from the CAO.
7. In charge of making sure all staff within the division has the appropriate cms permissions.
Co Division Leader
Number per division: One
Description: Co division leaders are given to the section leaders that shows outstanding leadership skills and commitment to the division and to EGS as a whole. Co division leaders are the “right hand man” to the division leader. They are to help oversee the day-to-day operations within their division.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least twenty two weeks.
2. Must have been in good standing as a section leader for at least three weeks.
3. Must have the time commitment to help run a division.
4. Must have completed the course given by the education department for co division leader.
5. Can be appointed by the division leader, but the community leader assigned to the division must approve and promote.
6. Must pass a verbal test given by the community leader assigned to the division or higher.
7. Must be promoted from section leader to co division leader by the community leader
assigned to the division or higher.
Duties:
1. Assist the division leader with day to day operations.
2. Oversee the section leaders.
3. Help organize events, contests, and giveaways for the division.
4. Can rank suspend for up to two weeks.
5. Must perform performance checks periodically for the division staff.
6. Must perform activity checks on all division staff within the division.
Section Leader
Number per division: One section leader per one-two section chiefs.
Description: Section leaders are considered division staff. Section leaders are for section chiefs that have overseen a squad split or shown outstanding leadership. Section leaders are in a pool to be chosen as a co division leader if a division split were to occur or if the co division leader position were to become open.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least nineteen weeks.
2. Must have been in good standing as a section chief for at least three weeks and/or oversee a squad split as a section chief.
3. Must pass the verbal test given by the division leader or higher.
4. Must be promoted from section chief to section leader by the division leader or higher.
Duties:
1. Oversees one-two section chiefs within the division.
2. Assist in day to day operations within the division.
3. In charge of promoting and demoting (with acknowledgement from division leader) generals of the squads that they help the section chiefs oversee.
4. Assist the division leader when needed.
5. Helps pass information down from upper division staff to the squads that they oversee.
6. Enroll in a co division leader/division leader course given by the education department. This course will be required before promotion to co division leader or division leader.
Section Chief
Number per division: One section chief per one-two squads.
Description: Section chiefs are the first rank at the divisional rank. Section chiefs are mainly for generals that have split their squads. However, this isn’t the only requirement to become a section chief. Section chiefs are to provide support over the general or generals that they oversee. They are not to run the squad, but help direct the general to success. They are also responsible for promoting the senior squad staff.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least sixteen weeks.
2. Must have split a squad as a general and/or three weeks in good standing as a general.
3. Must have passed the verbal test given by the division leader or higher.
4. Must be promoted from general to section chief by the division leader or higher.
Duties:
1. Oversees one-two squads within the division.
2. Assist in day to day operations within the division.
3. In charge of promoting the major and lt general for the squad or squads that they oversee.
4. Handles getting the information of squad tags, clubs, cms and other needed information to the new general or generals that they oversee.
5. Must attend at least one squad meeting a month of the squads that they oversee.
6. Handle passing information down from higher division staff to the squad staff.
7. Assist the division leader when needed.
General
Number per squad: One
Description: The general is one of the most important ranks in the whole community. They are in charge of overseeing the operations of one squad. The success and failure of a squad is reflected on the general. The general has the ability to run the squad to their liking, but must follow all policies, rank requirements, and code of conduct. They are in charge of hosting squad meetings, promoting within the squad and growing the squad.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least thirteen weeks.
2. Must have been at good standing at major or lieutenant general for at least three weeks.
3. Must know the names of the community leaders.
4. Must know the names of all divisions in EGS.
5. Must be promoted by section leader or higher.
6. Must pass a verbal test to be eligible for promotion by the section leader or higher.
Duties:
1. In charge of overseeing day-to-day operations of one squad.
2. Must keep the squad cms up-to-date at all times.
3. Must host at least one squad meeting and one squad staff meeting per week.
4. Must organize events for the squad.
5. Must promote members according to the rank structure.
6. May demote with acknowledgement from the section chief.
7. Must assign the squad staff and senior staff to tasks and duties.
8. Must make sure that squad staff is properly trained.
Lieutenant General
Number per squad: One
Description: Lieutenant general is considered a general in waiting position. They are the “right hand man” for the general. They are considered senior squad staff. They will have first choice of inheriting the current squad or taking over the new squad when the squad splits.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least ten weeks.
2. Must have been in good standing as a major for at least two weeks. OR at good standing as a captain for at least five weeks. (At least one week as 1 CPT)
3. Must know the division staff names and ranks of the other divisions in EGS.
4. General can appoint the lieutenant general, but the section chief over assigned to the
squad has final decision.
5. Must pass a verbal test from section chief or higher.
Duties:
1. Assist the general in day-to-day operations of the squad.
2. Help supervise the captains and lieutenants.
3. Help organize squad events, contests and give-a-ways.
4. May promote members to master sergeant and below, according to the rank structure and requirements.
5. Advise the general on potential leaders.
6. Help keep the cms up to date.
7. Assist on any other tasks that may need done.
8. Look to general for help.
Major
Number per squad: One
Description: Major is the first rank within the senior squad staff. They are to help oversee the squad under the direction of the general and lieutenant general. They are also considered generals in training. They will either take over the new squad or inherit the current squad, whichever the lieutenant general doesn’t pick, when a squad split occurs.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least eight weeks.
2. Must have been at good standing as a captain for at least three weeks.
3. Must be the 1st captain for at least a week, before eligible for promotion to major.
4. Must know the division staff names and ranks.
5. General can appoint the major, but the section chief assigned to the squad has final
decision.
6. Must pass a verbal test by section chief or higher.
Duties:
1. Assist the general in day-to-day operations of the squad.
2. Help supervise the captains and lieutenants.
3. Enroll in the general training program, given by the education department. (Must complete one week of training at least to be eligible for promotion to general)
4. Help organize squad events, contests and give-a-ways.
5. May promote members to master sergeant and below, according to the rank structure and requirements.
6. Advise the general on potential leaders.
7. Take a cms workshop before being granted access to cms.
8. Once having access to cms, help make sure that it is kept up to date.
9. Assist on any other tasks that may need done.
10. Look to general for help.
Captain
Number per squad: Four (Ranked 1st CPT being the highest and 4th CPT the lowest.)
Description: Captains are respected members that have devoted themselves to improving the community and squad. Captains are also in training to become apart of senior squad staff. They are to help supervise the squad at the direction from the senior squad staff and the general.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least five weeks.
2. Must have been at good standing as the higher lieutenant for at least one week.
3. Must know the names of the generals of the other squads in your division.
4. Must pass a verbal test given by general or higher.
Duties:
1. Must perform activity checks and send the reports to the senior squad staff.
2. Coordinate and help host workshops for the squad. May ask lieutenants to help fill slots.
3. Help train squad staff.
4. Help supervise lieutenants.
5. Look to major for help.
Lieutenant
Number per squad: Four (Ranked 1st LT being the highest and 4th LT the lowest.)
Description: This is the first rank in squad staff that is limited to a certain number of positions. Each squad is allowed four lieutenants. These lieutenants help perform some of the day-to-day operations of running a squad. They also help the lower staff with any questions they may have.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least four weeks.
2. Must have been at good standing as a master sergeant for at least one week.
3. Must know the entire squad staff’s names. (This can be found in your squad’s chain of
command channel.)
4. Must pass verbal test by general or higher.
Duties:
1. Must perform periodical security checks instructed by senior squad staff.
2. Must have all squad members on friends list.
3. Help supervise master sergeants.
4. Lieutenants should host at least one workshop a week. (Lieutenants may rotate weeks, so each lieutenant can host one a month.)
5. Look to captains for help.
Master Sergeant
Number per squad: Ten
Description: This is the first rank of squad staff. This is also the first rank that can train new members into the community. This is one of the most important ranks within the community, because they are mainly to help train new recruits into the community.
Requirements:
1. Must have been in EGS for at least three weeks.
2. Must have attended at least two squad meetings.
3. Must have attended at least two game nights.
4. Must have hosted at least one game night or social night.
5. Must pass a verbal test given by the major or higher.
Duties:
1. Train in new recruits.
2. Help fill slots in squad schedule, if needed.
3. Look to lieutenants for help.
Staff Sergeant
Number per squad: Infinite
Description: This rank is for sergeants that have shown potential in becoming officers within the squad. This rank is mainly used for those members that want to rank up into the squad staff. While there are an infinite number for this rank, it should be used for those seriously wanting to rank up.
Requirements:
1. Been in EGS for at least two weeks.
2. Attended three of the following: game night, social night, meeting, and/or workshop. (Three of the same can be counted, such as, three meetings.)
Duties:
Start preparing for master sergeant by attending workshops and/or one on ones with upper squad staff.
Reach out to new members and see what they are wanting/expecting out of their experience in EGS. Report the results up the chain of command to upper squad staff.
Assist general and other squad leaders/officers when needed.
Look to master sergeants for help.
Sergeant
Number per squad: Unlimited
Description: This is rank is for members that have continued to show interest in moving up the ranks. They have also shown dedication by the time requirement, as well as, multiple event requirements.
Requirements:
1. Been in EGS for at least one week.
2. Must have attended two of the following: game night, social night, meeting and/or
workshop. (Two of the same can be counted, such as, two game nights)
Duties:
1. Help fill game night and social night slots within the squad schedule.
2. Begin attending workshops and meetings to help prepare for higher ranks.
3. Assist general and other squad leaders/officers when needed.
4. Help welcome new members to the squad.
5. Look to staff sergeants for help.
Corporal
Number per squad: Unlimited
Description: This is the first rank for those looking for something more than just the casual member experience.
Requirements:
1. Must have attended one of the following: 1) Squad meeting, 2) Game night or 3) Social night.
Duties:
1. Help fill game night and social night slots within the squad schedule.
2. Assist general and other squad leaders/officers when needed.
3. Look to sergeants for help.
Member
Number per squad: Unlimited
Description: This is the first and starting rank for anyone that is recruited into EGS. They must meet the qualifications for membership to become a member.
Requirements:
1. Must have a Discord and join our community Discord server.
2. Be at least 16 years old.(Exception can be made if they are 15 and only 30 days or less from their 16th birthday.)
3. Must not be in a clan/community currently or have been in one in the previous 30 days.
Duties:
1. Must message at least once in Discord server per seven days to avoid fluff policy. *This applies to all ranks above member as well.
2. Game and meet new people.
3. Get involved with the community.
4. Look to corporals for help.
